Diving in Philippines
The Philippine Archipelago – blessed with 7107 islands – is one of the last great frontiers that host a multitude of marine lives, defined and still undefined. With the Pacific Ocean in the northeast, there is a great biodiversity to be found: single-celled animals, multi-cellular species, mollusks, crustaceans, echinoderms, etc.
One of the reasons the country holds so much appeal to many divers is not just the convenience but the added satisfaction that most dives are ‘guided’ by experienced Divemasters and Instructors, all of whom are fluent in English, ensuring you get the most out of your chosen dive site.
Kasai Village Resort offers great scuba diving in Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines where you choose from the best dive sites out of 17 in the area.
MOALBOAL, Southwest side of Cebu Island, is located at the heart of the Philippines, just in front of the Tañon strait on the peninsular with over 30+ dive sites for beginners, technical divers and macro photography enthusiasts.
You will find lots of different things on our house reef. Everything from small damsel fishes to big green turtles as well as both soft and hard corals. In the Staghorn corals, at the top of the reef, you will find the colorful mandarin fishes.
The reef is very famous in Moalboal so you can often see lots of visiting boats in the area. Turtles, Barracudas, Angel fish, Butterfly fish, Lion fish, Hawk fish, Nudibranch can be found in the waters of Moalbal. Occasionally, a Whale Shark can be spotted.
In the beginning of the dive, there is a sandy area where you can spend time looking at the small fishes like the Leaf Pipefish. The wall consists of small caves, impressive overhangs and cracks running all the way from the top of the reef until 40m deep. It’s a good idea to bring a torch when you go there because, in the small caves, you will see a very funny fish called the Comet.
